Triple fish

The triple fish is a motif consisting of a head and three bodies of a fish. The bodies are symmetrically attached to the head. The motif was developed and used as a motif for the Freest fishing carpets. However, the three-fish was then also found in fences and on house walls. Today, the dreamy fishing village of Freest, located 10 kilometres north of Wolgast directly on the Peene River, has the triple fish as its heraldic animal.
